Liverpool’s €7 Million Lad Is Attracting Interests From Championship Clubs For A Potential Loan Move

Joe Gomez hasn’t really seen a lot of game time since breaking into the first team at the start of last season. Injuries have played a large part to that and with the youngster returning to full fitness, he is ready to claim a spot in the first team.

Liverpool though have been playing some great football and the pairing of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip is not to be messed with. Similarly, you cannot drop either Nathaniel Clyne or James Milner from the full-back slots. So where does that leave Gomez?

The 19-year-old is in dire need of first team football and his answers might have been answered by a couple of teams in England. According to Liverpool Echo, Huddersfield Town and Bournemouth both want him on loan and it could come down to making a tough choice for Liverpool and Gomez as to where he should go.

The ties that bind Klopp and Liverpool

The decision to send Gomez out on loan shouldn’t be though about. The English defender needs to play more games and nothing is better than starting for a team, irrespective of the division they are playing in.

The big question is which club should Liverpool send Gomez out to?

Bournemouth already have done decent business with the Reds. They bought Jordon Ibe and Brad Smith at the start of the season and both players have buy-back clauses in their contracts, which means if they do perform well, the pair could be seen at Merseyside again.

That would certainly be a positive for Gomez but breaking into Eddie Howe’s team would not be as easy as many expect. Bournemouth are slowly getting into form and Howe would not want to change things about at the club and the starting XI.

The other club in question is Huddersfield and their manager David Wagner might not be the biggest name in the English league but he does have a link with Klopp. Wagner was the best man at Jurgen Klopp’s wedding and this connection could lead Gomez to Huddersfield in January.

Tough decisions lie ahead for Gomez

As stated earlier, the youngster has to go out to get more playing time and even though Bournemouth are in the Premier League, it would be better if he does move a step lower to Huddersfield Town. The manager is known to Klopp personally and Gomez could break into the first team right from the get-go.

Gomez has a lot of time ahead of his career but he has to take the right decision now. Huddersfield isn’t the fanciest location to play at the moment but certainly provides him a better chance of getting back to full fitness.
