“Phil is very shy” – Adam Lallana Speaks About His Teammates At Liverpool

Adam Lallana has had a brilliant season for the Reds and he did have a couple of assists in the 6-1 win over Watford. The Reds might have dispersed to the corners of the world due to the international break but the Liverpool stars seem to have a telepathic connection this season.

Liverpool are on top of the Premier League and that is due to the great attack that Jurgen Klopp has applied into his side. The Reds are the top scorers in the league with 30 goals from 11 games and there is no stopping them at the moment.

Lallana also has had a great time so far with the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho. The latter trio have all been playing out of their skins and the Englishman revealed that even though the Brazilians don’t speak much, they have a great understanding on the pitch.

Klopp is the man that has made the difference

Lallana did give credit to Klopp for making things right at Liverpool and he shared a few more insights on the two Brazilians to the Daily Star.

“At Liverpool, everyone speaks the language. It’s clichéd but football has its own language.

“For example, Roberto Firmino doesn’t speak brilliant English – although it’s better English than my Portuguese.

“But I feel like I’ve got that relationship with him on the pitch where you don’t need to be speaking to each other.

“It’s almost telepathic at times when you see Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane linking up they are everywhere.

“That’s not because they speak the same language or they speak English. Phil is very shy, his English is great. He doesn’t speak it too often.

“We just know each other’s games inside out.”

Hard work pays off for Liverpool

Almost every pundit has stated that Liverpool have been playing really aggressive football but the understanding and movement amongst the players have only been able to come through hard work according to Lallana.

“Practice does make perfect and when you know what’s asked of you by your manager and when he demands it you do it.

“That’s what you are seeing at the minute – the results of that hard work.”

The international break might have come at the wrong time for Liverpool but this break certainly should help Klopp and his team regroup and perform better once they all come back. The Reds face Southampton away next and a return to St Mary’s would be a perfect place for Lallana to show how far he has come and even keep Liverpool on top next weekend as well.
