“There is a zero percent chance of moving” – Liverpool Dealt With A Transfer Blow

Liverpool’s quest to strengthen the side in the January window has been dealt a massive blow. The Premier League leaders are in great form and have been linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side and has been linked with a number of other top clubs but it seems he will not be moving away from Borussia Park in the winter window.

Sporting Director Max Eberl was quoted  – by the Mirror – as saying that the midfield has absolutely no chance of leaving the side in January.

“There is a zero per cent chance that Mahmoud will leave in January,” Eberl told German magazine Kicker.

Eberl also added that there were no concert offers for the talented midfielder and also gave a bit of an insight into the contract situation with Dahoud.

“There is no offer for him on the table from any club and we have not had any offers for him in the past either

“It is the club’s desire to extend his contract. We have not opened talks yet, but that will soon happen.

“We will have to consider our options if he only has one year left on his contract next year, but that is pure speculation at this stage.”

Reds gunning for more players in the side

This will certainly come as a huge blow for Klopp as he looks to make the side better for their upcoming run in the Premier League. The Reds are on top of the league but they need to keep playing with the same intensity and injuries could be something that the German manager has to keep an eye on.

The Reds do have a great starting XI but as soon as someone goes out of it, the play doesn’t really live up to the expectations. The real test will be on Saturday as the Merseyside club face Southampton and with Adam Lallana out of the midfield, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum will have their work cut out for them.

Dahoud would have been a great addition to the Liverpool side and he did look like a perfect Klopp player. His energy, movement and vision would have made him the perfect player alongside Jordan Henderson but it seems the Reds will have to wait till the end of this season before they can make a serious move for the midfielder.

They could end up winning a trophy in between but if they had Dahoud in the side, it would certainly make them a tough team to put away from the Premier League title race.
