Slaven Bilic Says He Would Not Mind This Liverpool Star At West Ham

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge hasn’t been able to cement a place in the starting XI this season. The Englishman has had to deal with a number of injuries which have kept him out of the side and there are rumours that West Ham, amongst other clubs, are willing to sign him up.

Their manager, Slaven Bilic, was also speaking ahead of the clash between the two sides and claimed that the former Chelsea striker was one of the best strikers out there and as quoted by the Mirror

, Bilic said:

“He’s one of the biggest talents, he’s a great player,” Bilic said. “The talent is there, the touch, the finishing, everything is great.”

The Croatian did believe that injuries have been the main reason why Sturridge has not been a regular for his teams.

“The only thing that has stopped him being a regular for club and country are the injuries.”

Bilic also stated that he would not have a problem should he sign the player up, though he highlighted that many links on transfers are actually rumours.

“He’s just a player that has been linked with us, basically, and we’ve been linked with almost every player.

“We’re always there in contention. Most of the time it’s absolutely not true, 95% of the time. But you’re asking me about Sturridge and I have no problem about that.”

Klopp has a dilemma to look into

The Liverpool manager has decided to stick with Roberto Firmino to lead the attack and that has paid great dividends so far. While the Reds have leaked goals at the back in certain games, they have scored goals for fun and Sturridge hasn’t scored a single goal in the league campaign so far.

The 27-year-old has often been linked with a move away from the Reds since losing his place in the first XI but Klopp had stated that no player from the first team would be leaving the side in the January window.

Sturridge though needs to get more games under his belt and a lack of playing time, coupled with his injuries will lead to frustration from the striker. A move away from the Liverpool side is possible in the next summer window and Klopp has been linked with a move for many other attackers.

Unless the Englishman can get his act together before the end of the season, he will be sold and West Ham won’t be the worst team to move to. The Hammers did sign Andy Carroll a few years ago, and he too was a striker with many injury problems.
