Jurgen Klopp Gives Go Ahead To Sign £30m PSG Target From Bundesliga

Liverpool could be in for a brilliant New Year as they are looking to bring in Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg. The German attacker moved to the Volkswagen Arena at the start of last season from Schalke but the team has struggled this time around and is in danger of getting relegated as well.

The Times reports that Jurgen Klopp wants to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield and the German international had sent in a transfer request but that was turned down by the Bundesliga side.

The former Schalke star isn’t just wanted by Liverpool as PSG are favourites to sign him up. But the German connection and the fact that a number of players at the club have the same agent does seem to be in the favour of the Merseyside club.

A great option for the Reds but do they have the money to sign him?

Draxler has been linked with a move to a Premier League club for a while and it was a surprise seeing him move to Wolfsburg from Schalke. The Wolves paid a huge transfer fee for the talented attacker but this season has seen a fall from grace for the side.

The Wolves are 13th and are just three points above the relegation playoff zone. Wolfsburg also would be looking to recoup the money made for the purchase and that could mean a transfer fee of at least £30 million in case any club wants to sign Draxler up.

Looking at the Liverpool side, the Reds have consistently been one of the best attacking units in Europe this season and Klopp had stated that he wants to sign another attacker in the winter window.

Sadio Mane would be leaving the club for the AFCON while injuries to the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho have affected the season for the Merseyside club. Coutinho should be coming back to the side come the start of the New Year while Sturridge made a huge impact in the 1-0 win over Everton recently.

While there is no denying the fact that Draxler is a talented star, his inconsistency has been the biggest issue in his career. The hot and cold nature of his play could worry a club spending a lot of money on his transfer but if there is one manager who can take a player to the next level, it has to be Klopp.

The German has been able to turn around the Anfield careers of Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren, and most of his signings this season have worked for the better. FSG might want the German manager to continue his push for a first Premier League title for the Reds and Draxler could be the man who keeps the attacking verve of the Anfield club going.
