PSG Prepare Surprise £40m Bid For This Liverpool Star Following Julian Draxler’s £40m Move

One of the major transfer rumours has been regarding the future of Philippe Coutinho. The 24-year-old Brazilian has been the standout attacker for the Reds this season and many top European clubs are rumoured to be after the former Inter Milan star.

While Barcelona and Real Madrid have been consistently linked with a move for the attacking midfielder, there is another club in the fray, Paris Saint-German. The French club isn’t on top of Ligue 1 and want to increase their attacking ability with the signing of Coutinho.

The Unai Emery led side are willing to bid an audacious £40 million for the former Inter star, claims the Express. While Liverpool fans might hit the panic button as PSG have the financial muscle to bring in players, there is something extremely ludicrous about this bid.

PSG have a lot of quality players in their side

The French club already have the likes of Angel Di Maria, Lucas Moura and even Hatem Ben Arfa in their side that can provide the attacking input. There is another player who has joined the side and that is Julian Draxler.

The former Wolfsburg and Schalke man made the move and will join them in January after agreeing to a £40 million deal. His ability and talent are second to none and maybe Paris will be the city that unlocks his potential. This is the one player that could have replaced Coutinho in any side and since PSG got the German, moving for the Brazilian does not really make any sense.

The second part of the rumour that seems odd is the amount being offered for the Brazilian international. £40 million is a paltry sum considering the fact that Sadio Mane was signed for just six million less and he wasn’t expected to do as well as he has been doing at the Reds.

Coutinho, for now, seems to be a Liverpool player through and through. He might be out of action for a while due to an injury he picked up against Sunderland but he is expected to return to the side in a couple of weeks.

Liverpool would need Coutinho to be at his best once he returns as the Reds do need his attacking ability. Coutinho has scored five goals and has five assists in the Premier League this season and hopefully once he returns, the 24-year-old can lead the charge for the top four at least.

The Reds would hope that he returns for the clash against Manchester City on New Year’s Eve but it is important Coutinho returns to full fitness and is not out of the team due to an even worse injury.
