‘Liverpool Are yet to score a goal from open play in 2017’ – Twitter Reacts To Liverpool’s 0-1 Victory Over Plymouth

Liverpool fielded yet another experimental side that faced Plymouth in the replay of the FA Cup third round fixture. The Reds were held to a 0-0 draw at Anfield in the first leg by the plucky side from League Two and the home side were hoping for a giant killing in this round.

The Premier League side had Lucas Leiva to thank for the only goal of the game which came in the first half and even having the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi starting, they could not make the score line more comfortable.

1-0 is how it stood at the end of full-time but Liverpool had a chance to double the lead when Alberto Moreno was fouled in the penalty box. Origi did step up to try and score but he shot straight at the Plymouth keeper.

The Reds now face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fourth round at Anfield and will be expecting an easier tie than this one. We look back at the game and share the best Twitter reactions as Liverpool just scraped past the Pilgrims.
