Coutinho To Barcelona Rumours Arise Once Again As Brazil Legend Is The Latest To Comment On The Situation

Brazilian legend Rivaldo has become the latest player to state that Philippe Coutinho would be a great addition for his former club, Barcelona. The star attacker was speaking to Sky Sports News HQ and alluded to the history between Neymar and Coutinho.

“In my opinion, he’s a great player and a player who knows Neymar well. I think they are both friends – players who stand out.”

Rivaldo wasn’t coy about talking up the link between Barcelona and Coutinho and even stated that the transfer would happen as Barcelona are always looking to bring in the best players in the world.

“I think that this transfer might happen because Barcelona is always going to attract the best, isn’t it?

“He is one of the players who stands out and I believe that this transfer – if he goes to Barcelona – would be a good thing for Barcelona for sure.

“He is a player who would definitely help Barcelona. Of course, Barcelona is a big club, but with a player like him, it would definitely be a big help.”

Coutinho to Barcelona, again?

There was a time when the Brazilian wasn’t just linked with a move to Barcelona but even Real Madrid were in the running to sign him up. Ronaldo, the Brazilian striker, was another player who stated that Los Galacticos could do with Coutinho in their side.

This certainly is great news for Coutinho as all these players believe he is good enough to play for two of the biggest sides in the world but for now, he is a Liverpool player.

Coutinho and Neymar have played for a number of years in the Brazilian youth setup and know each other quite well. Their friendship is the one reason why almost every daily has linked the Liverpool star to join Barcelona sooner rather than later.

For the now, Coutinho has just returned from a ligament injury and played an important role in the 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup third round replay. It was his corner which led Lucas Leiva to head home the only goal of the game and with Coutinho regaining a bit of his fitness, it can only mean good things for the Reds.

Liverpool will be hopeful that the former Inter Milan man can get back to his best in the second half of the season as the club looks to maintain a Premier League title charge. Should Coutinho help Liverpool to some glory this season, it will only intensify the rumours of him moving to Spain and Jurgen Klopp will certainly have his hands full in trying to keep the Brazilian at Liverpool.

We all remember what happened with Luis Suarez and hopefully, this will not be another similar story for the Reds.
