Liverpool Are Lucky To Have Klopp, Says The New Academy Coach

The season could be crumbling for Liverpool as their faint hopes of a Premier League title took a massive dent after the 2-3 loss at home to Swansea. The Reds were expected to easily defeat the bottom-placed team in the Premier League but another inconsistent performance by the side and poor defending cost the home side big time.

There have been a number of people on social media who have vented their fury not only at the performance of some of the players but also the decisions taken by Jurgen Klopp. The manager of the club didn’t buy any players in the winter window, even though he had stated that he was going to bring in some attack minded stars.

Sadio Mane was a player that they needed to replace as the former Southampton man joined his national side for the African Cup of Nations. But there was some support for the German manager, that too from the Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.

The new academy coach at the club was speaking to BT Sport and was quoted as saying

:

“Klopp’s probably thinking ‘I don’t want to waste my money in January if the right people are not there’.

“If Liverpool fans are losing trust in Jurgen Klopp right now, it’s incredible.”

The former Liverpool captain also added that the Reds were lucky to have Klopp on their side.

“For me, we’re lucky to have him, he’s a world class manager, he’s going to bring success to this football club.”

Liverpool have to shape up

The Reds saw a yearlong run of being unbeaten at Anfield in the league come to an end with that loss against Swansea. Jurgen Klopp will have his work cut out as he looks to reignite the attacking flair that saw the Reds demolish sides in the first half of the season.

They do have Philippe Coutinho back in the side and they will be playing Southampton in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final and they have to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

The Merseyside club could reach their third cup final in less than 18 months with Klopp looking to win their first title in years. Liverpool needs to shape up and work hard if they are to continue the good work done at the start of the season and winning the game against Southampton might lead to better things for the club.
