‘Am I watching Daniel Sturridge or Torres at Chelsea in disguise?’ – Twitter Explodes And Reacts On The Awful Performance Of Sturridge

Liverpool’s second half of the season certainly is not going well and with the club out of the EFL Cup, more questions are being asked about the players at Merseyside. While the likes of Jordan Henderson and Emre Can have been bashed a number of times this season, another player is on the radar of the Liverpool fans.

Daniel Sturridge finally got a chance to show the world what he can do for Jurgen Klopp’s side but the striker failed once again in the EFL Cup and the fans did take to Twitter to show their lack of belief in the 27-year-old.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City striker was compared to another former fallen great at the club, Fernando Torres. The Spaniard picked up a number of injuries during the latter half of his Liverpool career and was sold to Chelsea for a crazy amount of money but he had already lost his spark back then.

Sturridge could turn out to be another Torres situation. The player doesn’t look sharp like he was a few years ago and is ill-suited to the system that Klopp employs at Liverpool. Twitter was scathing on the Englishman especially after the 1-0 loss in the EFL Cup game against the Saints at Anfield.

The striker did have a couple of golden chances to give Liverpool the lead but he was wasteful and his time at Anfield could be coming to an end as well.
