Premier League Rivals Slap £20m Price Tag On Liverpool Target: Will Klopp Move For The Player?

On-loan Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has reportedly been set a price and Pep Guardiola has given green light for Hart to move anywhere he wishes to. The price is believed to be £20 million for the shot-stopper’s services. The England goalkeeper is currently on loan at Torino but will return to Etihad at the end of the season.

Guardiola has installed Claudio Bravo between the sticks and the former Barcelona man has not performed up to expectations as well. This might leave the door open for a Joe Hart comeback, but given Pep’s history in handling players, it does look unlikely for Hart to win his place back in the team.

Joe Hart has done well for Torino so far.

Earlier, it was being reported that Guardiola did not want the player to move to a rival club. But now, he seems to have no problems with Joe moving to any club of his choice, and any offer that matches the price will be accepted by the Citizens (According to The Sun).

Hart has played 24 games for Torino this season and has kept 5 clean sheets. Apart from the clean sheets, what truly reflects the quality of Joe Hart is his quality. Clean sheets may not be a true reflection of a goalkeeper’s ability. Joe has made an average of 2.78 saves per game this season for Torino, and also has a claim success of 94%, suggesting the quality and stability the keeper can provide to his defenders.

With a good goalkeeper guarding the posts, it always gives an extra bit of confidence to the defenders and that is exactly what Joe Hart is all about.

The news will come as a boost for Liverpool, who are believed to be on the hunt for a goalkeeper.

Joe Hart will fit in perfectly at Liverpool, given his age and nationality. He is only 29 years old and is English. It will be a welcome move by Jurgen Klopp to sign Joe Hart and stabilize the posts once and for all.

The arrival of Hart would mean lack of opportunities or maybe even a potential exit for either of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius. This would be because Joe Hart excels in every single aspect of goalkeeping and is easily an upgrade on the current Liverpool goalkeepers. An exception can be made in the case of Karius, given his age. But Hart would certainly be a better choice than Simon Mignolet.

It’d be interesting to see if Klopp goes for Joe Hart.
