Liverpool returned to their old failings as they were humbled by Leicester City at the King Power stadium. Jurgen Klopp had warned his side of not taking a Leicester team which had sacked Claudio Ranieri and were without a goal in 2017 but all those warnings failed to get the Merseyside club going.

Jamie Vardy scored his first Premier League goal since the hat-trick against Manchester City in 2016 before Danny Drinkwater slammed home a great goal from outside the box to make it 2-0.

A visibly upset Klopp changed formations to a 3-4-3 after the break but it was of no use as Vardy scored off a header before Philippe Coutinho pulled one back for the Reds. The win saw Leicester climb above the relegation zone while Liverpool remained in fifth and now are in danger of falling behind Manchester United who have a game in hand.

There were many who were upset with Klopp’s tactics and even raised the point that Liverpool cannot play against the so called weaker sides. Twitter was ablaze with criticism and jokes on Liverpool and we share the best updates from the social media site.
