Fixture Pile-up To Affect Liverpool Again At End Of Season – April Fixtures Moved For TV Coverage

Liverpool aren’t having a great second half of the season and their loss to Leicester City just adds more pressure on a side trying to finish in the top four. The Reds were flying high in the first half of the season but a poor month of January, which was littered with fixtures and injuries for the Reds has seen them slide down outside the top four.

The Reds were also knocked out of two cup competitions in the month and there could be another fixture congestion issue for the Merseyside club in April.

Reports state that four games out of the six being played in April will be rescheduled as the sports channel will beam the action live.

The games affected include the Merseyside derby on April 1 as the Reds aim to complete a double against the Toffees. West Bromwich Albion’s home game against Klopp’s men has also been moved and will take place on April 16.

Crystal Palace’s visit to Anfield will take place on April 23 and the Merseyside club’s trip to Vicarage Road will now be played on May 1.

Only the games against Bournemouth at Home and Stoke City at the Britannia remain on their original dates and this will lead to a number of issues for the Reds again.

The pileup certainly is going to be a tough ask for Liverpool to overcome as after they face Manchester City away next month. The Reds will play nine games spread across 51 days and that will be a concern for fans.

Jurgen Klopp was visibly upset after their 3-1 loss at the hands of Leicester City and even after a long break, the Reds were horrible against the Foxes. Liverpool have flattered to deceive and now seem set for another season of underachievement as they limp towards the end of the season.

Dreams of winning the league have been extinguished once again and even if that target was too big to overcome this season, a top four finish should have been made easy, especially with no European football in the schedule.

The Reds have actually capitulated far too many times this season and the lack of mental strength certainly has cost them as well. Klopp will be looking for the side to finish the season on a positive note but if they play in the same manner as they did against Leicester, they might not even make it to the top six of the league.
