Liverpool are reportedly after Anderlecht star Lukasz Teodorczyk, who joined the Belgian club on loan last summer and made the move a permanent one earlier in March. According to Belgium Publication RTBF, Jurgen Klopp seems to be interested in signing the £12.5m rated Anderlecht striker in the summer.

The Reds have lacked an out and out striker this season but have scored 71 goals in the league, which is only behind league leaders Chelsea. Though their major struggle has been at the back, Klopp will be fully aware that the number of games to be played next season would be more than what Liverpool have played this season, and hence strengthening the squad depth will be highly essential.

Teodorczyk has played 49 games so far this season and has scored 28 goals and provided 5 assists. The Polish striker has been brilliant for Anderlecht and is their leading goalscorer. He is the top goalscorer in the Belgian league as well, with 19 goals to his name. Anderlecht are currently on top of the league standings in Belgium and Teodorczyk has led them from the front.

He has an impressive minutes-per-goal count of 115 in the Jupiler Pro League and has scored a goal every 135 minutes in all competitions this season. Teodorczyk is only 25-years old and would be a perfect second-choice striker for Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Kop Times Verdict

Despite his impressive goal scoring record this season, he wouldn’t be the striker who can lift Liverpool’s attacking quality and Klopp might still have to try and sign a big name striker who can guarantee 30 goals a season.

Even though Liverpool have not struggled for goals this season, there is always room for improvement and hence the Reds need to sign a striker in the summer. Adapting to the English league is quite difficult and there is no assurance about Teodorczyk settling down well in England. It would be a huge gamble if Klopp decides to sign Teodorczyk.

Do you think Teodorczyk would be a good signing for Liverpool?
