Deal Completed – Liverpool Set To Announce First Summer Signing Once The Transfer Window Opens

Liverpool will reportedly announce the signing of left-back Andrew Robertson once the transfer window opens in the summer, according to the Mirror. The Reds seem to have won the race to sign the talented youngster and the announcement will be made once the transfer window opens.

Klopp has long been linked with moves for left-backs as he’s had to manage this season by deploying James Milner in that position. The versatile Englishman has done a commendable job for his manager and has aided his team. However, he is not the long-term solution to the problem and Liverpool certainly need a natural left-back. Alberto Moreno has failed to establish himself as the first choice under his German manager and has not featured as much as he’d have liked to. It looks like the trend would continue.

Now that Liverpool are reportedly set to announce the signing of Andrew Robertson, it is possible that Klopp still trusts Moreno to deliver. Robertson is by no means an established star and is only a 23-year old who has performed admirably. He shows a lot of potential and hence Liverpool are probably signing him. But the fact that he is not a star arrival shows that Klopp has no plans of letting Moreno leave anytime soon.

The fans have cried out for an established left-back and the announcement of Andrew Robertson would only please very few sections of the supporters. If anything that they can take heart from, it is Klopp’s scouting ability. The German has unearthed a lot of gems in the past and the Reds’ faithful should trust his judgement again and hope that Robertson delivers the necessary goods.

Robertson has made 37 appearances for Hull City this season and has scored a goal and provided 3 assists. He is a strong passer, a good dribbler and likes to play himself out of tight situations. However, his defensive side of the game needs more fine-tuning as he still tends to plunge into tackles. He is also not known for his aerial strength.

If anything has to be said, Robertson is not a big arrival by any means. Nevertheless, he’d be a decent signing for Liverpool and has the potential to become a big player in the future.
