Liverpool fans got another reason to celebrate on Sunday after the 4-0 win over West Ham. Former Reds striker Dirk Kuyt led his Feyenoord side to the league title in Holland.
It was a great evening for the Dutch side as Kuyt scored a hat-trick to bring home the Eredivisie title for the first time since 1999.
Kuyt was an extremely popular player at the Reds after he joined from Feyenoord in 2006 and scored 71 goals in 285 appearances for the Merseyside club.
The Dutch attacker was often referred to as the “Energizer Bunny” due to his work rate and energy and was sold to Turkish club Fenerbahce in 2012 before he returned to Feyenoord in 2015.
It was a fitting end to the season for Feyenoord and the 36-year-old proved he is a big match player for his club.
There were many that were pleased with the win for Feyenoord and also praised Kuyt for his performance.
