Football Correspondent: Liverpool Will Be In The Market For A Top Striker And Klopp Admires Kylian Mbappe

Almost every pundit out there has had a go at deciphering what our transfer strategy would be in the summer and most of them have confirmed that Liverpool would be looking to add another top forward in the side.

This time it is Andy Hunter, football correspondent of the Guardian that claims Jurgen Klopp will bring in a quality forward irrespective of what happens in the final game against Middlesbrough.

Win and we are through to at least the qualifying rounds of the Champions League but anything less and we would be at the mercy of Arsenal and Manchester City slipping up.

“Liverpool will be in the market for a top striker this summer regardless of Sunday’s outcome and, along with the rest of Europe’s wealthiest clubs, admire Monaco’s teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe. There is a considerable distance between admiring and signing, of course”, wrote Hunter.

While playing in the Champions League might bring in some big targets, we could be looking at the final game played by Daniel Sturridge on Sunday. The Englishman did score in the impressive 4-0 win over West Ham but his injuries have been a source of frustration for all and even Klopp added that a fit Sturridge has a future at Liverpool.

“A fit Sturridge is an unbelievable player,” Klopp stated. “That’s a pity of the situation, [it’s] not often enough. But he’s now fit, spot on, trained two or three weeks.”

There has been interest in signing Kylian Mbappe but that is a farfetched deal to be honest, especially given how much Monaco want for the French sensation.

What would probably happen is Klopp making a few phone calls to Germany and bringing in a striker or two to ease our goal scoring issues. We do have Roberto Firmino in our side and another quality forward, who stays fit for most of the season, should be enough to deal with the extra European games next season.
