The Liverpool Echo
reports that the La Liga side first has to appeal a transfer ban that was handed out to them and that has sent a number of tabloids spinning out of control. The report claims that Le 10 Sport, Calcio Mercato and even the Mirror state that we are going to splash £40 million-plus to sign the 26-year-old, which would be an amazing buy for us.
Lacazette is one of the best strikers in the world and it is a bit of a surprise to see him move to Spain when there are a number of Premier League sides looking to sign a quality forward. The Frenchman has wowed most of us with his amazing goal scoring record at Lyon and bagged 37 goals in 45 matches this season too.
Should we somehow manage to lure Lacazette to Anfield, it would certainly mean the end of Daniel Sturridge and possibly even Danny Ings as Lacazette would be played up top alongside two wingers.
However, we cannot celebrate anything as of yet. The summer market hasn’t officially opened yet and we have seen a number of transfers slide away from us with other teams buying our players.
It would be a little ironic should we actually do the same to Atletico and we did do something similar with the Roberto Firmino transfer. We have suffered for many seasons regarding marquee signings failing to turn up at Anfield but Lacazette could buck the trend.
We remember the excitement around Fernando Torres’ transfer and if Lacazette does move here, there will be a few fireworks from the side next season.
