Liverpool Receive Surprise Transfer Boost In Pursuit Of Hotshot Striker Thanks To The News Coming From Spain

The Alexandre Lacazette to Atletico Madrid deal continues to be shrouded in mystery. It seemed that the French striker was all set to join Diego Simeone’s side but reports from Football London claim that the La Liga side will have to deal with a transfer ban.

The Court of Arbitration for the sport will ensure that the ban is upheld and the side will not be able to make any first team signings in the coming transfer window.

That would mean great news for us as Jurgen Klopp has been looking for a quality first team striker and Lacazette is one of the best in the world at scoring goals. The 26-year-old scored 37 goals in all competitions for Lyon and is surely leaving the side in the summer.

What we would have working in our favour is the return of the Champions League as the Lyon man has always suggested that he would move to a club that is in Europe’s premier club competition.

Signing the French striker would be a major coup for us but it would have to be done quickly as other sides would be sniffing around and looking to tie him up. We know that Arsenal have always been linked with a move for Lacazette but their Europa League involvement wouldn’t interest the Lyon ace.

Klopp and FSG will have to work overtime if they want to sign Lacazette and given that we have a large transfer chest to use in the summer, the French striker could be the marquee player for next season.

Lacazette’s signing would certainly mean the end of Daniel Sturridge, even though he performed in the last two games of the season. The Englishman’s fitness and injury record is a major issue we have to deal with, something that is not a problem with Lacazette.

We would be ecstatic if Lacazette does make the switch and it could become another Fernando Torres kind of signing. Fingers crossed, Lacazette coming to Liverpool would be the start of something great under Klopp next season.
