Championship star touted to Slot in at Liverpool as new era dawns

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot wants Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville as his first signing

Arne Slot wants Liverpool to sign Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville as his first transfer signing as a new manager. Summerville is enjoying a sensational season with Leeds in the Championship as they are currently second in the EFL Championship.

Leeds have lost their rhythm in recent games and with one match remaining, their second place is under threat. However, after the league phase is over, they would have another chance of promotion through the Championship playoffs.

Summerville has been prolific in front of goals for the Whites and is also a key creative force for the team. Standing at 1.74 metres, the Dutchman has a low centre of gravity that keeps him balanced on possession in duels.

His close control of the ball and dribbling skills help in making long progressive runs from the flanks or narrowly. The 22-year-old can play at either wing and centrally behind the lead striker, preferring the left wing.

The Dutch U21 has drastically improved his technique and composure which has helped him score goals and create chances. Summerville has made 45 appearances in all competitions for Leeds, contributing with 20 goals and 10 assists this season.

The 22-year-old has missed fewer games due to injury which is another bonus for Liverpool, struggling with injury crisis. Fichajes reported that new Liverpool manager Slot wanted Summerville at Feyenoord but failed due to a high price tag.

Liverpool can afford the 22-year-old during the summer and if Leeds misses the chance of promotion, the value could suffer. Slot prefers a 4-2-3-1 formation where Summerville

could fill any position behind the main striker and develop further.

The Dutchman fits the profile that Liverpool desire and the attack department have similar players who are versatile. Liverpool needs a player with better productivity as they have suffered with complacency and poor composure this season.
