Jurgen Klopp Personally Calls Up Player As Liverpool Edge Closer To Land £35 million Attacker

Jurgen Klopp is at it again, this time with Mohamed Salah, the AS Roma winger. The Egyptian has been linked with a move to Anfield and now the German manager has personally called up the winger and spoken with the player reports the Metro via Gianluca Di Marzio.

The report claims that the personal touch by the former Dortmund manager makes Salah feel like an important player for us and things do look on track for the Reds. The club had initially bid around £26 million for the 24-year-old but that amount was rejected by the Serie A club.

Roma are holding out for £35 million as the performance from the Egyptian since moving to the Serie A has been great. Salah scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in the league this season and it was also said that his agent was in London to seal the deal.

Anfield calling finally

We all remember that Salah was a prime target for us in 2014 but ended up at Chelsea in the last moment. He struggled there initially before finding his feet in Italy and he could be returning to prove a point, such as Kevin de Bruyne.

The 24-year-old winger is extremely quick and does have an eye for goal. His partnership with Sadio Mane would put fear into any defence and we do need another quick player.

Many would feel that the £35 million being asked for him is a bit excessive but that is just how the market goes. The bigger problem lies with the fact that like Mane, Salah will also have to play in the AFCON every two years, and we all know how that turned out for us this season.

Still, Salah is a good player to have on the side and isn’t going to cost a crazy deal. Klopp had turned his magic when we signed Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and Marko Grujic by calling them up and this call to Salah probably has sealed the deal for us, fingers crossed.
