Not Sessegnon, Not Robertson – Liverpool Turn Their Attention Towards Another Left-back From Championship

Hull City may have dropped into the Championship but one of the positives for the club over the course of the campaign was the emergence of some key players. Josh Tymon is one of those players who has made an impression, despite being only 18 years old. The left-back featured in five league games, but his major contributions came in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup. Now, it appears that a number of Premier league clubs are interested in signing Josh Tymon by offering him the prospect of returning back to the top division.

Liverpool are looking hard and strong for left-back options across European football. Alberto Moreno is expected to be one of the first departures from Anfield in the summer, as he is clearly not on Jurgen Klopp’s good books. His disastrous start to the 2016-17 season proved to be a final nail in the coffin for the Spaniard. James Milner represented the club as a left back throughout the campaign, but playing in unnatural position certainly did not suit him or the club on several occasions. Liverpool have made it a priority to sign a left back.

Ryan Sessegnon, Theo Hernandez, and Benjamin Mendy are some of the transfer targets for Liverpool. Now, it has emerged that Hull City’s Josh Tymon is also in the eyes of manager Jurgen Klopp (ESPN). But one can only speculate that this transfer may not be for an immediate first-team spot. Tymon only has five first-team appearances to his name when it comes to the domestic competition. He is even yet to make an appearance in the Championship.

The Kop Times Verdict

Hull City’s relegation is a bonus for Liverpool, as we would be able to tempt the player into moving to Anfield and a possibility to even appear in the Champions League. He could be set for a bumper payday if he joins Liverpool.
