All The Latest News About Salah To Liverpool – Roma Chairman Gives A Huge Update

Mido, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker, believes that fellow Egyptian Mohamed Salah will certainly join Liverpool before the start of next season.

We have been embroiled in a cat and mouse game regarding the transfer of the AS Roma winger and have been rebuffed by the Serie A side regarding the valuation of the 24-year-old winger.

While the transfer fee has been a point of contention, Mido isn’t worried about a breakdown in the negotiations and stated that the deal will be done. He was quoted bu Kingfut

“Salah will definitely move to Liverpool. It’s just a matter of time. The Egyptian further added that Salah would fit our playing style perfectly but was quick to suggest that success is not a guarantee for the winger should he move to Anfield. Liverpool’s style of play suits Salah perfectly and Jurgen Klopp’s style suits the Egyptian winger.

“I’m not concerned about the competition Salah will face in Liverpool but I just fear he might not be able to cope with the higher tempo of playing in the Premier League.”

We all remember his stint in England, as he struggled to perform for Chelsea. It is also important to note that he wasn’t given a lot of playing time and was shipped out to Fiorentina before he made Roma his home.

Salah has been exceptional after shifting to the capital and scored 15 times with an additional 19 assists from 41 games. He is seen as the perfect winger who suits our playing style and with Sadio Mane on the other wing, we would have two of the quickest and most hardworking players on the pitch.

Roma’s President Speaks Out

Amidst all these strong links doing the rounds in the media, Roma President Pallotta has come out and said that they have received offers for a lot of players but that they aren’t ready to listen to all of them. Though he tries to suggest that Roma aren’t worried about the negotiations, it is clear that he is only trying to pretend.

Speaking to SiriusXM radio (h/t Liverpool Echo), he said,

“In any case, there’s nothing in it at the moment. We continue to receive offers for many of our players and if we were to listen to all of them, we’d lose three quarters of the squad. Now we’ll see what to do. In order to improve, we need four or five quality reinforcements, because we’ll be taking part in the Champions League too next year.”

“This season we’ve been penalised by injuries, especially in defence. Alessandro Florenzi’s injury cost us at least four points. We also don’t have enough strength in depth for the attack. Edin Dzeko scored 39 goals, but if he had got injured, I don’t know how our season would’ve ended.”

It is absolutely certain that we are negotiating for the player and that the negotiations are taking so long because the clubs are failing to agree on a suitable fee. Hopefully, we don’t end up failing in signing Salah as he would be a great addition to our current squad.

The 24-year-old wouldn’t be the cheapest signing in the world but he does have quality. If he can do a Kevin de Bruyne or even a Nemanja Matic and turn it up in England on his return, we would have gotten a great deal for a relatively young player.
