Liverpool Transfer Target Gives A Huge Transfer Boost – Admits a Transfer Is Certainly Possible

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Southampton’s Dusan Tadic, who has admitted for the first time that a move to Anfield is certainly possible. The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool just a few days after Southampton made an official complaint to the Premier League about an approach for Virgil van Dijk. However, Southampton may not be able to do much with regard to preventing us from trying to sign the Serbian winger, as he reportedly has a £13million

release clause in his contract.

Signed from FC Twente for around £10.9million, Tadic has quickly grown into one of the important players in the Southampton set up. He made 33 appearances last season in the Premier League alone, while managing 44 appearances in all competitions. He came up with a respectable tally of 3 goals and 8 assists in these matches. Regarding a possible move away from Southampton, Tadic said:

“I don’t comment on these things. I have an agent and I have correct things with the club. We will see. You never know in football. In every club, sometimes players leave. It is not easy, but this is football.”

A key reason for Liverpool being linked with two completely different Southampton players is the overwhelming need to strengthen the squad in several areas of the pitch. Tadic may not become a first-team regular if he makes the switch to Anfield. But manager Jurgen Klopp will certainly be able to rely on the player over the course of a long and hard campaign. After securing Champions League football, we certainly have to play more number of games in the 2017-18 season unlike in the last campaign.

The release clause means that Tadic will be an extremely sensible buy in many ways. Southampton will not be able to complain if Liverpool match the £13million release clause. It is likely that the Reds are seeing Tadic as a viable alternative to Mohamed Salah, whose move is becoming increasingly unlikely with Roma being stubborn about keeping the player at all costs.

Tadic would be a completely different proposition, as he has managed to spend the last three seasons in the Premier League. He does not need any time to adapt and will be able to influence the games from the word go. Furthermore, the presence of former Southampton players like Sadio Mane and Dejan Lovren should also help him settle at Anfield.

Do you think we should sign Dusan Tadic if Salah move fails?
