Well Done Jurgen Klopp – Midfielder To Sign £100,000-Per-Week Long-Term Liverpool Contract

Emre Can

After a bit of a lull in recent weeks of no new signings coming into the club, there is some good news along the way. Tuttomercato claims that Emre Can will be signing a new contract with us which will keep him at the club until 2021.

The Italian outlet claims that Can’s £55,000 weekly-wage will be increased to £100,000 per week and that is enough to ensure the German makes Anfield his home for the foreseeable future.

While Can scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists for us last season, there were reports claiming that the German would be leaving for Juventus in the summer. With only 12 months remaining on his contract, fans certainly were getting anxious about the future of the 23-year-old.

However, Can staying at the club can be now seen as a positive, given the fact that we would be playing in Europe next season. Can also has the chance of developing further under Jurgen Klopp and the former Borussia Dortmund manager was quoted by the Express about his relationship with the Liverpool midfielder and how a deal could be completed between the pair.

“It’s no secret how much I like Emre. He likes the club. We’re in talks. There is no pressure. All is good. I am quite positive. Keeping good players makes sense and Emre is a good player.”

Losing out on Can would have been a huge blow for us ahead of a jam-packed season and it would also send out a poor message that we cannot keep hold of our best players who have an impact on the team.

The good news is that Can is close to staying and it is only a matter of time before the news is made official. The midfielder’s season though isn’t over as he already is away for his next tournament.

Where Is Emre Can Right Now?

The 23-year-old capped off a great campaign for us with a place in the German national squad for the Confederations Cup, which will be held in Russia this summer.

Can has kept his fans in the loop regarding his whereabouts and has shared updates about his latest location thanks to his Instagram account.

The German was seen in Turkey and then in Spain and now is in Russia to help his side pick up another international crown. The Germans begin their campaign against Australia on Monday and Can will be expecting to perform at his best for the national side as well.
