Liverpool Could Clinch Second Summer Deal If A Bid For The Right Price Is Made

Liverpool could complete the signing of long-term target Mohamed Salah by this weekend, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The report from the Italian journalist’s website claims that the two teams, Liverpool and Roma are in extensive negotiations as they look to iron out a deal for the 24-year-old winger.

The report further claims that the former Chelsea man has already agreed personal terms with us and the only thing that stands in the way is the fee, which has to be finalized between the two clubs.

Di Marzio claims that if we put in the right amount for Salah in the next 48 hours, the Egyptian will become our second signing of the summer after signing the young English striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea.

The Italian claimed that we have put up just £28 million plus bonuses for the winger but his Serie A club value him at close to £40 million, especially due to his incredible form for the side.

Roma finished second in the Serie A and the 24-year-old was one of their standout players as he scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 41 games. He managed 15 goals from 31 league games too, which is a great record considering the fact that Salah plays out wide.

It is no wonder that the football director of Roma, Monchi, had earlier stated that there were negotiations between them and an English club but Salah would only be sold at a price that the Serie A club wants.

“We don’t intend to sell players and we want to give the boss a competitive squad.

“An English club likes Salah, and we’ll decide what price to set depending on the circumstances. If someone leaves, he’ll have to be replaced well. There are no open talks apart from Salah.”

Salah has been a target for Jurgen Klopp since the start of the transfer window and it now seems only a matter of time before the deal is all but done. The Egyptian would be making a return to England, where he struggled during his first season at Chelsea.

His subsequent loan deals in Serie A seem to have made him a better player thanks to his regular playing time and hopefully, with his pace and goal scoring ability, he will be a hit for us next season as we look to make it to the group stages of the Champions League and finish higher than fourth.
