Journalist Tips Naby Keita Will Make The Switch – ‘He wants to move to Liverpool’

Amadou Makadji, a journalist for Guinean football website FOOT224.com, shared a lot about the RB Leipzig man during an interview with the Liverpool Echo.

The interview with Echo’s James Pearce highlights how close the journalist is to Keita and how he has tracked his career over the years.

One of the biggest compliments about Keita was that he was compared to a Barcelona legend. Here are bits of the information that he shared in the interview with Echo

. Makadji also opened up about what he can bring to the Liverpool side on the pitch.

“Former Guinea and PSG coach Luis Fernandez used to compare him to Iniesta. Naby is a box to box midfielder. He has great ability with the ball. He has excellent vision and can create very important assists for strikers.”

“He can also play as a No 10. In his last season in Austria, he ended the season in this position and he scored more than 10 goals there.”

There have been a number of roadblocks in our attempts to sign Keita but the journalist did add that the player does want to move to us.

“He wants to move to Liverpool. His aim is to finish in a top club in Europe. When Liverpool and especially Klopp needs you, it’s difficult to say no.”

“The fact Liverpool will play in the Champions League next year is a big part of that because he really wants to play in this competition. If he can do that with a big club like Liverpool, it is always better.”

Another big issue has been the asking price for the player, which is close to £70million, but Makadji stated that the price tag would not be a problem for Keita.

“For the pressure of that price, I think that will let us know the kind of player he is. If he can’t play under this kind of pressure then he is just a normal player. But, really, I don’t think that will be a problem for him. He’s more than a normal player.”

“Naby is young and has great potential. I hope he will join Liverpool and realise big things at Anfield – things that Guinean players have never realised before.”

Keita does seem to have set his standards really high as Makadji claims that the Guinea midfielder wants to finish at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Should we be able to sign Keita, we will have one brilliant player that has a lot of potential and can make us a great team for the years to come.
