The One Quality Of Salah That Made Liverpool Shatter Their Transfer Record – Klopp Explains

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed what made him break the club’s transfer record to sign Mohamed Salah from AS Roma.

The Egyptian international joined the club from the Italians last month in a £36.9million deal, thrashing the club record for transfer fees.

And our boss, Klopp, has now claimed that the most prominent quality about Salah that made him and the club go and sign him up was the player’s extreme speed.

“He’s a fantastic player with speed,” Klopp said as quoted by the Independent. 

“We said after last season that we would try to add things to an already really good squad. One of those things is speed. He brings that, as well as being able to provide and to finish. He brings all that. He’s a naturally fit boy and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

“We have had a few talks and he’s a really nice lad. He’s really looking forward to coming to Liverpool and joining us.”

Salah has had a stint in the Premier League with Chelsea, but he struggled to make an impact at the Stamford Bridge, which saw him move to Roma permanently in the summer of 2016, after loan spells with Fiorentina and Roma.

Last season, he managed to find the back of the net on 19 occasions and also chalked up 15 assists against his name from 41 games in all competitions.

The 25-year old is expected to add an extra dimension to the Liverpool attack with his blistering pace, combining with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino etc. The prospect of watching all these excellent attacking talents take the field together is truly a mouth-watering prospect for the fans.

Salah reported for the pre-season training at Melwood on Friday and it wouldn’t be long before we get to see him in action in the Red colours of Liverpool as we kick off our pre-season with a clash against lower league opponents Tranmere Rovers on July 12.
