Twitter: This Is What Arsenal Legend Ian Wright Thinks About Liverpool’s Latest Transfer Move

As Liverpool close in on their third signing of the summer, Andrew Robertson of Hull City, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright was quick to suggest that the 23-year-old defender would be a great signing for the Reds.

We are set to pay around £8million for the Scottish left-back and the fee could rise to £10million, depending on other add-ons, which is a bit of a steal to be honest.

While news of Robertson’s medical isn’t concrete as to when it will be completed, Wright shared an image on Twitter regarding the same.

The legendary striker was also asked if Robertson would make a good signing for us and stated that he has been talking about Robertson all last season to Alan Shearer, who is a BBC pundit and a Newcastle United Legend.

The Scottish defender made 39 appearances for Hull last season but could not save them from relegation. A number of players have already left the side and Robertson was initially a part of their training camp in Portugal but returned to England on Monday to finalise some of the points before joining us.

We have been in the market for a quality left-back ever since we gave up on Alberto Moreno and many fans might be perplexed as Robertson isn’t the best left-back in the Premier League. However, he still is young and will get better under the right coach and that is something we can expect as he plays under Klopp.

Robertson should be slotted straight into the first-team as playing James Milner as the left-back next season would be a travesty as the Englishman deserves to play in midfield. What possibly will happen is that Milner could start the season as first-choice in that role before Robertson is slowly groomed into the role.

We must remember that the 23-year-old Scot was one of the most impressive players for the Tigers last season and if he can build upon this, Liverpool would have gotten a good player for a cut-price deal.
