Liverpool Now Clear To Sign 23-year Old Full-back As Inter Drop Out Of The Race

Liverpool recently strengthened the left-back position by signing Andy Robertson from Hull City for a fee of around £8million. His signing addresses a key problematic area for the club, and Robertson is expected to go straight in the place of James Milner – thus freeing up the midfielder for a return to his natural position.

Yet, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is not entirely happy with his options in this position, as we are being linked with a move for Nice defender Henrique Dalbert.

Dalbert was signed by Nice last summer. He arrived on the European football scenes in 2013 after making the move to Portuguese outfit Académico Viseu from Flamengo. He is already a well-traveled player after representing the likes of Fluminense, Flamengo, and Vitória Guimarães SC.

His rapid development has also caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Liverpool. Up until now, we were expected to face a stiff challenge from Inter Milan

for the player’s signature. Now, Calciomercato reports that Inter Milan have dropped out of the running and it leaves Liverpool with a clear sight of the player.

The potential problem might come in the transfer fee, as Nice are demanding that the interested parties meet the €30million release clause in the player’s contract, which still has four years to run. If Liverpool end up paying this fee, which would be a club record for a defender, it is very likely that Dalbert would end up starting most of the matches.

Robertson has come to Anfield with a dream of establishing himself as a first-team regular at the club. and to achieve international fame. At this moment, the biggest challenge for the Robertson is Alberto Moreno, but the Spaniard is expected to leave the club before the end of this window, as he is not in the first-team plans of the Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool have already rejected a £11million

offer for Moreno from Serie A side Napoli.

If Dalbert signs for us, expect some fierce competition between him and Robertson. That should be a good one to watch.
