‘That’s not something to talk about here’ – Klopp Refuses To Comment On Liverpool Star’s Future

Liverpool’s attack has been on fire from the first day of the season and we saw just how well the team can play, in the 4-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday. While the new boy Mohamed Salah shone with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, there are a number of players that aren’t getting time on the pitch.

One such player is Divock Origi. The Belgian striker was the go-to guy last season as he often came off the bench or played when Daniel Sturridge was injured but this season has been a different story.

Dominic Solanke seems to be above the Belgian in the pecking order and with a fit again Daniel Sturridge, Origi’s time on the pitch will be greatly limited, even with Champions League football on the horizon.

Jurgen Klopp, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, opened up about the future of the 22-year-old and was asked if Origi would be leaving on loan.

“We will see. That’s not something to talk about here. If players come in, I think it makes sense to think about what we do on the other side. They’re obviously involved in this (the players). I’m not sure, we will see, you have to wait.

“No games now so I hope you can enjoy the next five or six days with all the rumours and all that stuff. I’m not looking forward to it but it’s part of the game eh?”

It, however, seems like a certainty that Origi will be leaving the side on loan, as we also have Danny Ings back to full strength. Origi needs to play regularly to continue his growth and development, something that has stalled in the past season or so.

Origi does have a lot of tools to become a prolific striker but he needs to be in the starting XI week in and week out, something that will not happen this season at Liverpool. What is interesting is that the Belgian has been linked with a move to Monaco as we look to sign Thomas Lemar from the Ligue1 side.

Origi would be sent out on loan and maybe, he would learn a lot by playing alongside one of the best strikers in France, Radamel Falcao. The Belgian has only played 10 minutes of football for us this season, which was against Watford. Returning to the Ligue1 might be a good career move for him.

Regaining his confidence and hopefully running into some form will help him. It will obviously be better if we can conclude the Lemar deal quickly too.
