Juventus Are Desperate To Sign Key First Team Liverpool Star And Are Open About Their Interest

It looks like Juventus are not ready to accept defeat in their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Emre Can. After being told in no uncertain terms that the German is not for sale this summer, the Italian Champions plan to come back in January for his signature according to reports.

Can has entered the final year of his contract which means that he would be free to start negotiating with other clubs from January. The Reds are trying hard to get him sign the contract extension although Juve CEO Beppe Marotta hopes to speak to him in January.

As quoted by TalkSport, Moratta said:

Liverpool are holding on tight to Emre Can,” Marotta told Premium Sport. “His contract expires in June, [so] we’ll be able to negotiate with him from January. We won’t hide the fact we like him but currently he is a Liverpool player, so we can only admire him from afar.

Give Him A New Contract!

The German did not have the greatest of starts in his Liverpool career but under Jurgen Klopp, he is a transformed footballer. Anyone who witnessed his performances against Hoffenheim in the midweek and Arsenal in the weekend would vouch for that.

The 23-year-old dominated Hoffenheim, scoring two goals, and his display against Arsenal was one of the most complete performances by him in a Liverpool shirt.

His physicality was too much for the Gunners and was simply unplayable with his decision making. His quality too hot to handle for the Arsenal midfield. Although Mohamed Salah won the man of the match award, it was Can who stole the fans’ hearts. No wonder then that holding on to him would be the biggest positive of the summer for Liverpool.

Peerless And Priceless

On current form, Can is one of the best midfielders in the league and is priceless to Liverpool. Not long ago, fans were frustrated with his displays, accusing him of flattering to deceive.

Constant criticism and shuffling of positions did not help Can, who found solace only after Klopp took charge. The way in which the German international ended last season and has started this campaign shows that he is a huge player for Liverpool.

However, he still has question marks over his future at the club and his contract situation is making the fans nervous. Juventus are trying to steal him for cheap and if we let him go, it would be a blunder.
