9 Goals From 14 Games – Liverpool Back In Race To Sign £18m Dutch Winger

Quincy Promes has been one player that has been consistently linked with us over the past two seasons. The Dutch attacker was stated to be the player that would have come in had we not got Mohamed Salah in the summer and reports from Transfer Market Web claim that we are back in the running to sign the 25-year-old.

The winger has been in exceptional form for his current side Spartak Moscow and already has 9 goals from 14 games. That certainly has caught the eyes of many and it seems like Promes is making it a habit to score from wide areas as he has scored 10 goals or more in each of his past five seasons.

The 25-year-old was also a target for Everton and Arsenal in the recent past but his pace and ability to play in a number of positions could be the reason why we want him.

The report claims that the player could be valued at £18m, which would be a decent amount for someone who is at the top of his game with a lot of room for improvement.

Promes can play on either wing, as an attacking midfielder and even as a striker, so he would fit in our team rather well. The Dutch attacker might not be the biggest name in world football but he could turn out to be another Sadio Mane kind of signing.

The former Southampton man has been a great player for us, and Promes could provide us with a lot of depth in the coming years.

At 25, he still has a long way to go and has a lot of potential but it does seem unlikely that he would join us to play a bit-part role or even be on the bench.

We have a great trio that leads our attack and with Philippe Coutinho pulling the strings, breaking into the side would be extremely tough. There is also the question about his ability to succeed under tough conditions as the Premier League is much harder than the Russian League.

Promes might be a promising winger and we will have to keep an eye on this rumour to see if it does gather some steam.
