Liverpool Dealt Major Injury Blow As Star Winger Is Ruled Out For 6 Weeks

Liverpool just cannot seem to catch a break this season. While we couldn’t sign a decent centre-back, and that has been coming to haunt us, we are having really poor luck at the top of the attack as we keep missing chances.

Adam Lallana has been injured since the start of the season and it seems like Sadio Mane has also picked up a hamstring injury which will keep him out for at least six weeks. The Senegal star was on international duty and was subbed off in the win over Cape Verde.

The 25-year-old former Saints star is one of our focal points in attack and even though he has not been in the same vein of form as last season, he still has scored 3 goals in the Premier League.

Many would have expected him to do some damage to Manchester United this weekend but that doesn’t seem to be happening, as the 25-year-old could miss a number of crucial games for us.

The Daily Mail reports that Mane could miss matches until 25 November, which means he would not be playing against United, Tottenham and Chelsea, to name a few big games he’d miss. Our winger would also miss out on three Champions League clashes – Maribor (home and away) and the crucial clash against Sevilla, which could decide our progress to the knockout round in the competition.

Mane has had a bit of a poor season that went from bad to worse when he got a straight red card in the match against Manchester City. The winger accidentally kicked Man City goalkeeper Ederson in the face and was handed a three-match domestic ban.

The 25-year-old had formed a great attacking understanding with Mohamed Salah and it seems like the former AS Roma man will have to bring the pace at the tip of the attack against Manchester United and a number of other teams.

Losing Mane for six weeks is a huge blow as we struggled to break down teams last season. Unfortunately, we fear a similar story will take place this season too.

A season that promised so much is falling apart already and if we can somehow scrape into the top four at the end of the season, that would be great for Klopp and his team.
