“He might be a good goalscorer for Liverpool in the years to come” Reds Legend Backs This Summer Signing To Come Good

Dominic Solanke might still be a young player but there were a number of clubs wanting to sign him when the England youth international stated that he did not want to remain at Chelsea due to a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 19-year-old joined Liverpool and even though he has not started a Premier League game for us this season, Solanke has looked good for the few minutes he has been put on the pitch.

Solanke did score three goals in our pre-season and looked a good fit for the squad and many expect him to flourish under Jurgen Klopp as the German manager continues to develop players at the club.

A legend of our club, Kenny Dalglish, also had his say on the 19-year-old Solanke and while he was speaking to BetStars, he said (as quoted by The Sport Review).

“They have signed the young lad Solanke up front as well who’s only nineteen.

“He might be a good goalscorer for Liverpool in the years to come.”

Dalglish does know a thing or two regarding scoring and playing for Liverpool. The living legend scored 169 goals for us in an illustrious career and picked up 6 league titles as a player before leading us as the manager to another three.

He also won the European cup thrice with an incredible Liverpool side of the late 70s and early 80s, days that all Liverpool fans would want to relive.

Lack of good strikers has been a major problem for us ever since Fernando Torres left as we still have not found a player that can score goals consistently or even remain at the club. Just when Luis Suarez found his feet, the Uruguayan left to join Barcelona while Daniel Sturridge has struggled to find the back of the net due to his injuries.

Roberto Firmino is not a striker but he seems to be the perfect player in a withdrawn No. 9 role for us, though his finishing is still suspect.

The Brazilian might be facing a lot of competition or at least rotation when Solanke does get going at Liverpool and hopefully, Dalglish’s words come true and the young Englishman breaks a record or two at the club.
