Spanish News Outlet Diario Gol: Liverpool Plan To Sign Real Madrid Star To Solve Key Problem

In a massive turn of events, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is considering making a move for Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas, reports the Spanish news outlet Diario Gol

.

The Costa Rica international has time and against been linked with a move away from Real Madrid, but the Spaniards’ failure to bring a stopper for the past couple of summers, has seen Navas stay put. His exit rumours started way back when Real Madrid approached Manchester United over David de Gea and reports even claimed that Florentino Pérez agreed to offer Navas in exchange of De Gea, but everything went down the drain.

Since then, Real have been linked with a host of stoppers and everytime, Navas seems like he is heading out of the Bernabeu. Given his age, Real won’t mind cashing in on him and Navas is aware of this fact as well. He has reportedly grown frustrated of the rumours every transfer window and has now asked his agent to listen to any offers, and this is where Liverpool come into the picture.

The issue regarding the lack of a proper custodian between the sticks has long been affecting Liverpool and the fact that Simon Mignolet has the worst save percentage in the whole Premier League is the perfect example of the situation we find ourselves in.

Liverpool have conceded a whopping 16 goals in just 10 Premier League fixtures already and Mignolet has hardly been convincing in goal.

Navas, on his part, has seen his playing time cut short this season and maybe he can blame it on his injury issues. And with that being done, Diario Gol claims that Jurgen Klopp is ready to make a move for the stopper. However, coming to England won’t be a walk in the park; ask Claudio Bravo. The high-intensity style, language and most importantly the climate will be the initial blocks for the stopper.

Furthermore, it’s not just Navas with whom Liverpool have been linked with. Reports from El Pais (h/t Mirror

) have claimed that Porto’s stopper Iker Casillas is being targeted as well. The former Real Madrid skipper sees his current Porto contract expire at the end of the season and the source has claimed that Porto wouldn’t mind selling him off in the January transfer window. His agent, however, has described his client’s link to Anfield as a ‘crazy rumour’ and has refuted all the claims.
