‘Of the crazy stuff I have seen, this is the craziest’ Agent Of Liverpool Target Reacts To Latest News

Veteran Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas has been linked with a move to Liverpool but his agent Carlo Cutropia did not take these reports kindly.

The former Real Madrid stopper is currently at the Portuguese club FC Porto but has fallen out of favors, so much so, that he has lost his place in the first-team! With the player set to become a free agent on July 1, 2018, the rumour mills were quick to link him with Liverpool

.

There is no surprise in this, considering the eternal need for a safe goalkeeper at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp has invested his faith in Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius but neither has been able to convince that they can be long-term options.

Although the reasons for their problems go beyond their ‘keeper, Klopp’s frustration with his incumbent pair has led the links to Casillas who has emerged as a genuine contender.

But, his agent has come out against these reports insisting that there is no truth in these reports and that his 36-year-old client will not be moving to Liverpool.

“Of the crazy stuff I have seen, this is the craziest,” he told Radio Renascena, as quoted by Metro. “It is crazy and there is no truth in it.”

Casillas made a great start to the season, keeping 7 clean sheets in 10 appearances. However, he was dropped from the team after what was reported as ‘bad attitude in training’.

Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao has made it clear that he is unhappy with Casillas’ attitude in training and has subsequently frozen him out of action in favour of Jose Sa.

Porto played Boavista in the weekend where Sa started again for the visitors where they won 3-0. Casillas once again had to be content with a place on the bench but his agent was quick to point out that the situation is not out of control and that it will settle down soon.

“Casillas is calm and happy at Porto and he wants to play, logically, just like any footballer.

“I believe that Iker and the manager speak every day, but there are issues between the manager and the player.

“You have to give it time but there is complete calm. I am reading many things in the press, everything is false, and it leaves me surprised, and that’s it.”

Should this put an end to Casillas rumours? Although that appears to be the logical conclusion, I hardly doubt if that would happen. There is no doubt that the player is unhappy right now.

If he continues warming the bench for the next month as well, Casillas may start looking at his options. And, if that happens, Klopp will be more than happy to test Porto’s resolve of keeping their star ‘keeper on the bench.
