Liverpool To Splash £35 Million To Break Serie A Attacker’s Release Clause

Liverpool could be returning for an old boy who has been doing pretty well in Serie A. A report from Daily Star suggests that the Reds are ready to activate Suso’s release clause, and he could be the player that solves our worries in midfield.

While we have been fantastic in attack this season, we might lose out on a couple of midfielders come the start of next season. Emre Can is refusing to sign a contract extension and could leave for free while Philippe Coutinho is being targetted by Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Suso would be seen as a replacement for the latter as the Spaniard can spray the ball around really well and also has an eye for goal.

The 23-year-old has started this season on fire having scored six goals and providing three assists for Milan while last season he had notched up seven goals and nine assists in 33 league starts.

The report also suggests that the 23-year-old winger/midfielder would not be the most expensive player if we were to buy him with his release clause is around £35m.

Suso was always a fan favourite during his time here at Liverpool and it was a shame that Brendan Rodgers let him go on the cheap when the talented Spaniard joined Milan but he displayed a lot of promise during a loan spell at Genoa and is now a regular in their first XI.

Milan have been finding it tough in recent weeks to catch up with the top four in Italy and maybe they might want to sell their stars should they have a poor end to the season.

Suso can play out wide or in the middle of the park and would be a great option for us given that we have a very dynamic playing style. The Spaniard is also great with his delivery and that is something that would be important for us since the only player who is capable of scoring from dead-ball situations is Coutinho.

The Spaniard might not be as talented as Coutinho is but he still has a couple of years on the Brazilian and under the right management, he would flourish.

For now, he is still a Milanese player but the summer could be extremely busy for us given that a lot of players could be going and more could be coming in.
