Liverpool’s Star Midfielder Has Requested The Club To Ignore PSG Offers

Philippe Coutinho has been in the news recently about another protracted move to Barcelona coming to fruition in the January window. We all know that the Catalan giants had three bids rejected by Liverpool with a move to Spain but they are set to face competition this time around.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been tracking the movement of the 25-year-old and are willing to get Coutinho into the side with one of his best friend’s Neymar, already at the club after a blockbuster move this season.

However, reports from Spain claim that Coutinho has set his eyes only on Barcelona and is not looking to move to PSG.

Empire of the Kop carries a report from Spanish outlet Sport which states that the Brazilian has asked Liverpool not to entertain offers from any club other than Barcelona in the winter window.

Coutinho moving to Barcelona has been one of the transfers that might happen in the future however, these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Another rumour from the Spanish press

This is not the first time the Spanish press have stated that Coutinho has more or less signed with Barcelona. We had seem a number of reports confirming that Liverpool had sold Coutinho to the Catalan side but we still held onto the Brazilian after the end of the transfer window.

Losing him in January makes no real sense as we might have not only the Champions League matches but also the FA Cup games. The 25-year-old is still one of our best players and we will need him to at least make it to the top four come the end of the season.

It will be unlikely keeping a hold of him after the 2018 World Cup, similar to the Luis Suarez saga, and he may still end up leaving us for Barcelona and not PSG, however, if the French side might still have a big say in where Coutinho does go.

We should still line-up a replacement for Coutinho as his frame of mind does not seem to be right at the moment and hopefully, Thomas Lemar could be the man that can be a better player for us than the former Inter Milan man.
