Liverpool Are Amongst One Of The High-profile Clubs Keeping Track On Man City Attacker

Liverpool are amongst one of the most high-profile clubs who are keeping track of Manchester City starlet Javairo Dilrosun, claims a report from ESPN.

The 19-year-old Dilrosun is regarded as one of the best young players Manchester City have ever produced and has just six months left on his current deal, hence, he could leave at a relatively low price at the end of the season if a new contract extension is not agreed. Dilrosun joined Manchester City academy back in 2014 from Ajax after rejecting a host of European clubs, and the sides haven’t given up on him to date.

Dilrosun, a winger, is yet to make his first senior appearance. He has already represented their Under-18 and Under-19 teams, and is now a regular fixture for the Under-23 unit. His exploits haven’t just been with the club as he has also impressed for Netherlands in all of their youth levels. He was also a part of their Under-19 side which reached the semifinals of last summer’s European Under-19 Championship.

City recently faced a similar situation when they saw one of their most promising young stars in Jadon Sancho leave the club to join Borussia Dortmund. The primary reason cited for his move was the fact that he was yet to receive a senior call-up from Pep Guardiola.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup star eventually stopped training with the Citizens and the club, on their part, did not give him permission to speak to any British clubs. Hence, the youngster signed a contract with Borussia Dortmund.

In case of Dilrosun, it is safe to say the youngster is far from getting a first-team call-up and this is where Liverpool could come into the picture. Given that Klopp is known for backing youngsters, a move to the Merseyside club could well be on the cards. But signing Dilrosun won’t be a walk in the park given that the likes of Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Valencia are all monitoring his situation.

Besides all this, Manchester City are well aware of Dilrosun’s capabilities. Hence, they are quite reluctant to lose the starlet. Should the time come and Dilrosun indeed decides to leave, the interested club will have to pay a fee set by a tribunal, as he has not reached the age to depart for free.
