Liverpool News – Zinedine Zidane Makes Huge Mohamed Salah Comment

One of the biggest successes of this transfer window at Anfield has been Mohamed Salah. The Egypt international has been in cracking form this season and his exploits in front of the goal have earned positive reviews from all over the globe.

The latest to join the bandwagon of his admirers is Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane. The Los Blancos boss has admitted that he is a fan of the attacker although he did not comment on whether his side would bid for his services.

When asked about Salah, Zidane was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying:

“Salah is a great player. He showed that at Roma, now at Liverpool”

“He’s still young and is improving all the time. I don’t talk much about other players, but he is a player I rate a lot.”

There is nothing wrong with managers admiring players from other clubs but when it comes close to a transfer window, these would be alarm bells for the clubs.

Salah has been in great form for the Reds ever since he made the big-money move from Roma in the summer. He has already bagged 13 Premier League goals, making him the competition’s top scorer this season.

In any other league, this may not be a huge achievement but in the English Premier League, to be a top-scorer means a lot. Purely because this league is blessed with a lot of natural strikers such as Harry Kane from Tottenham, Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United and Sergio Aguero from Manchester City, to be on top is no mean feat.

What strikes about Salah is his consistency in finding the net and in dishing out regular performances. Unlike someone like a Lukaku or Mesut Ozil, who go missing in big games, Salah has shown the tendency to be consistent with his performances.

That is why his tally for the season stands at very impressive 19 goals after 24 games in all competitions. No wonder then that the rumour mills are binging with reports of an exit.

How feasible is that? I don’t think Salah would be willing to move away after half-a-season or even one season. He is getting regular chances under Klopp and that’s primarily driving his performances. Salah would ideally want to stay for another season, at the least, before he even thinks about a move.

Even if he wants to, I don’t think Klopp or the team hierarchy would agree for a move. Till they decide otherwise, Zidane can keep admiring Salah!
