Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos is reportedly pushing for a move out of the club to work under Jurgen Klopp

Dani Ceballos is reportedly pushing for a move out of Real Madrid, in order to work under Jurgen Klopp, according to various reports. Diario Gol claims that the Real Madrid star is desperate to leave the Bernabeu this month in order to earn a place in Spain’s World Cup squad this summer.

Ceballos, 21, joined Real Madrid in a €15million switch from Real Betis over the summer, signing a six-year deal at the Bernabeu. However, the move has failed to live up to the expectations with the central midfielder struggling for playing time with the Spanish and European champions so far this season.

The Spain Under-21 international has played a total of just 186 minutes of La Liga football so far this season, scoring 2 goals in the process. According to the report, Ceballos now wants out and believes that a move to Liverpool will reignite his career and allow him to fulfil his early potential.

However, this neat statistic isn’t what the young man was hoping for when he turned down Barcelona to join rivals Real, he was looking for more game time. With the World Cup fast approaching, one can understand why this is the case.

Ceballos is a regular for Spain’s U21 side but has his heart set on a promotion to the senior ranks, which is difficult given the competition for attacking midfield places. The Spaniard knows that he needs regular football in order to catch Julen Lopetegui’s eyes to book a place in the squad for the World Cup in summer.

With Liverpool having been linked with Ceballos as recently as last month, it remains to be seen whether Reds boss Klopp would consider the player as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who moved to Barcelona this week.

Ceballos would be able to play in Coutinho’s role of being the link between the midfield and the attack, though he’ll feel like he can offer a lot more than that in a goal scoring sense, despite being a central midfielder. If Liverpool do choose to acquire the talented 21-year-old, Klopp won’t need to worry about adapting the system, as the Spaniard would be able to adapt his playing style to match that of Klopp’s.

However, well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has said that Madrid will not sell Ceballos, who is considered one of the best young midfielders in Europe.

“No chance. Not a possibility. Real won’t sell anyway, they don’t want to sell,” Balague told Sky Sports.

Looks like this is one speculation we have to keep track of.
