Liverpool’s act of fans recognition – Reds welcome 11 new Official Supporters Clubs from around the globe

Liverpool Football Club (LFC) has welcomed a number of new Official Liverpool FC Supporters Clubs (OLSCs) this week as 11 international fan groups were given official status.

As per Liverpoolfc.com, the USA (The Palm Beaches, Carlsbad (CA), Charlottesville, Colombus and Philadelphia), India (Kolhapur and Nagaland), Europe (Berlin and Serbia) and Asia (the Philippines and Hong Kong Region & Macau) have joined this season’s forces of OLSCs.

This has also brought around 2,000 new members to join over 143,000 fellow Reds in being officially recognised for their unbelievable support of the football club. It has been long now since LFC fan groups have been active, with unofficial LFC Supporters Clubs beginning to form back in the late 1960s.

It was in 1993 when the club took a decision to provide official statuses to these groups, with the creation of the International Supporters Clubs (ISC) network – known today as the OLSC network. Today, the network has spread so widely and we have 270 branches present in 88 countries worldwide.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome these new Official Liverpool FC Supporters Clubs to the LFC family,” Peter Moore, chief executive officer of Liverpool FC, told the club’s official website.

“As a Reds fan who lived abroad for many years, I know first-hand what it’s like to support the club from afar, so it’s really great to see so many of these groups come together to share their love of our club and recreate the special Anfield atmosphere wherever they are in the world.”

It is always a great feeling for the fans to get officially recognised by the club. Though Liverpool FC is completely English, our club’s fame has spread so far wide and the fans are now everywhere around the world. It is quite beautiful to see fans from all over the world joining the big family and let’s hope that the club’s fan base continues to grow big.
