“He loves Real Madrid” £88million Liverpool target’s agent pours cold water on speculations

Liverpool and Manchester United target Gareth Bale is happy at Real Madrid, insists the player’s agent. The Wales international has been far from his best at Real as the club have endured a torrid time this season.

Zinedine Zidane’s side have found it difficult to defend their La Liga crown this campaign and while retaining the title has become a distant dream, achieving a top-four finish and making progress in the Champions League remains the club’s priority now.

But despite the Spanish giants faltering, Bale’s representative claims he is happy in Madrid and that it would cost a lot of money to prise him away from Santiago Bernabeu. Manchester United are reportedly been interested in Bale and the Don Balon claimed they were making huge strides in order to bring the winger to Old Trafford.

But after the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last month, it looks like Jose Mourinho is not in the hunt for any attacking players in the summer and could decide to strengthen other positions.

We were recently linked with a move for Bale as well. The Don Balon reported that the Reds had made a bid of around £88million for the Welsh wizard last month, but the player’s agent Jonathan Barnet has put the speculation to bid, claiming the forward is happy with the Spanish giants.

“Bale? I think he’s worth as much as Neymar. He loves Real Madrid and doesn’t want to leave,” Barnet told Tuttosport (h/t Manchester Evening News).

“Gareth does not need Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid, he is already a top star of the club.”

Liverpool are in the hunt for a player capable of filling the void left by Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian was a vital cog in the club’s engine and Jurgen Klopp is expected to bring his replacement in the summer.

If Klopp is eyeing Bale as the player to fill the boots of Coutinho, then he should avoid it. There are no doubts regarding Bale’s talent and his ability to produce magic moments but the problem lies with his stability and injuries. The Welshman has been vulnerable to injuries for the past couple of seasons and to bring an injury-prone player by paying a hefty amount of money would be a big gamble by Klopp.

Above all, going by his agent’s comments, Bale is going nowhere after the end of the season.
