Liverpool contact Real Madrid to sign on-loan Colombian superstar on a permanent basis

Liverpool have shockingly approached Real Madrid over signing Bayern Munich star attacker James Rodriguez, according to reports. The Colombian, who is one of the most sought-after playmakers across Europe, is currently plying his trade at Bayern and has been in sensational form of late.

Rodriguez moved to the Allianz Arena on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid in the summer, after rejecting moves from the Premier League. But according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon

, Liverpool are the latest club from England to have expressed an interest in signing the Colombian.

Though the player is currently on loan at Bayern, the Merseyside-outfit are ready to make a sensational bid to sign Rodriguez on a permanent basis.

Liverpool lost playmaker Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last month in an eye-watering £142million deal. Everyone expected Jurgen Klopp to bring reinforcements in January but the Liverpool manager decided to stick with the current squad.

However, come summer, Klopp should use that money to sign a replacement for the Brazilian. And it looks like the German manager has already marked Rodriguez as the player to replace Coutinho at Anfield.

But the report adds that Real have informed Liverpool that the 26-year-old is not for sale in the summer. That is all down to one thing – the Spanish champions don’t feel like creating a chaos by breaking their agreement with Bayern for Rodriguez.

Bayern will have the option to sign Rodriguez on a permanent basis at the end of the loan spell and Real are unwilling to enter into any kinds of talks for the player.

The only way the Colombian will not be a Bayern player next season is if they or Real break the loan agreement. Given how Rodriguez has finally settled in at Bayern and is leading them to another Bundesliga title, the chances of Real breaking the loan agreement with Bayern looks highly improbable at the moment.

Without wasting much time, it would be logical for Klopp to start thinking about other alternatives to replace Coutinho at the end of the season. As far as things stand now, Real are not breaking the loan deal with Bayern and Rodriguez surely, is not coming to Anfield.
