Liverpool Pair Share Future Plans As Their Contracts Are Up – Have Positives To Say

Liverpool have had a great season thus far, even though there were many who believed we had regressed especially after starting the season a little slow with a number of draws affecting our position in the table in the first half of the season.

We do have a great attacking outlet with Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, something we had last season as well with Philippe Coutinho at the centre of it all. That has been one of our trademarks under Jurgen Klopp but the other has to be the push given to our young players as they are regularly given chances to impress in the first-team and also to train with them.

There are a few quality players in the side who were interviewed recently by O Jogo (h/t Sport Witness) and it seems we could be losing out on two future stars basis the quotes carried by Sport Witness.

Paulinho, Toni Gomes and Rafael Camacho all spoke to the outlet about their next step in the world of football with Gomes and Paulinho both being out of contract at the end of the season.

While their deals are yet to be renewed, the pair does want to remain in England.

“My plan is to continue in England. I have already had the opportunity to play in Anfield and to listen the club’s anthem and I will always fight for this dream”, said Paulinho.

His partner, another Portuguese in Gomes claims that he wants to remain in Liverpool but could move away too.

“I also want to continue. If it is not at Liverpool, in another club.”

The third Portuguese is protected as a Liverpool player till 2020 but the chances to play for the first-team and even to work under Klopp has ensured he stays at Anfield for a few years more.

“He’s a manager who supports, encourages and gives confidence to the youngsters. In the first team, things are different, they are elite players. Every day you learn a lot and I feel that when I play under-23 things are more easy.”

“I want to win at Liverpool. Gerrard, with whom I also worked, did the same course as I and won. Therefore I ask that God help me, because I will fight to have this luck.”

This can only mean good news for us as our youngsters want to remain at the club and want to work with Klopp and Steven Gerrard. Hopefully, the trio will remain at the club for the next few years and get their chance to impress the crowd at Anfield.
