“Mohamed Salah is better than Lionel Messi”, “Demolition man”: Liverpool fans go crazy on Twitter after stupendous 5-0 win against Watford

It was the Mohamed Salah show as Liverpool bounced back with a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Watford at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah bagged four goals, making him the first Liverpool player to score that many goals in a single league game since Luis Suarez against Norwich in 2013. His wonder strikes helped the Reds reclaim the third position in the league in an emphatic manner.

The Egyptian twisted and turned before sending Miguel Britos on the ground as he scored the opener in the fourth minute.

Watford did have a couple of minutes of pressure when Jordan Henderson, and then Gini Wijnaldum, were guilty of sloppy passes conceding possession.

The barrage of goals started when Andrew Robertson’s cross was met by Salah at the far post.

Emre Can pulled up mid-way through the first half as he headed down the tunnel to be replaced by James Milner after clutching his ankle.

Within 5 minutes of the restart, Liverpool made it three. Salah hammered a cross from the right and Roberto Firmino applied the finishing touches with his back heel past goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.

With 10 minutes remaining and the three points all but wrapped up, Salah scored his hat-trick. He bamboozled three Watford players inside the box before poking the ball into the far corner of the net.

And with only a few minutes left, substitute Danny Ings, who saw his previous effort well saved, was again beaten by the Watford goalkeeper. However, this time the ball fell into the path of Salah and the Egyptian slammed the ball in the back of the net.

It was Salah’s 28th Premier League strike and 36th in all competitions for the Reds this season.

Delighted with the big victory and especially after witnessing the Salah show, here is how our fans reacted on Twitter.
