Liverpool approach Leicester midfield star with 1 goal and 4 assists in 35 matches – reports

According to African journalist Alpha Balde, Liverpool have approached Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. Balde took to his Twitter account to report that the Reds have already contacted Ndidi over a possible summer switch to Anfield and adds

that he is willing to “agree” to the switch. But the journalist goes on to claim Leicester will not be willing to let the 21-year-old leave on the cheap.

Ndidi joined Leicester City in January 2017 from Belgian club Genk and has done well during his time at the King Power Stadium. He was signed by the Foxes last summer as N’Golo Kante’s replacement.

The Nigerian midfielder, who has a contract at the King Power Stadium until 2022, has scored one goal and supplied four assists in 35 matches in all competitions for the Foxes this campaign. It looks like Ndidi’s fine form this season has grabbed the attention of Liverpool.

Meanwhile, according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta confirmed ahead of the Spal-Juve game that Emre Can is the club’s main target.

“We are Juve, we are a top team and Allegri can still win a lot here. We have faith in Max and his future isn’t a problem for us. Wilshere? Like I said we are looking at a few possibilities. Emre Can is our main target and we are waiting for an answer from him,” Marotta was quoted by Calciomercato.com.

With Marotta confirming that Can is Juventus’ main target, I assume that the Reds could be in for a midfielder and have therefore tracked the progress of Leicester’s Ndidi. But as per journalist Balde, the hard-tackling midfielder won’t be available on the cheap and the Reds have to shell out a substantial amount of money to lure him from King Power stadium.
