Liverpool star Oxlade-Chamberlain leaves Manchester City attacker fuming after CL defeat

Manchester City have been the team to beat this season and we have been lucky enough to beat them repeatedly – including twice in the Champions League.

According to the report from Liverpool Echo, Raheem Sterling was left fuming and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain appears to be the culprit. The former Arsenal star played a key role in the 3 victories and he even scored against the high-flying Cityzens.

Speaking to Colossal TV (h/t Liverpool Echo), Oxlade-Chamberlain revealed that he let Sterling know he had ‘arrived’ at Anfield.

The duo shares a good rapport off the field and the report has gone on to claim that they are friends as well. Oxlade-Chamberlain, known for his classic tongue-in-cheek humour, said:

“On the way back? Course I did. Had to let him know I’d arrived. I was in the game, had to let him know I was in the game.

“It was a big goal and we wanted to go out there, them boys were flying, have a good result and beat them. That set us going.

“I can’t really remember what I was thinking. I was just buzzing.

“But on the way back I was definitely thinking, ‘Where’s Raz?’ I clocked eyes and there wasn’t really much love coming back.

“Little grin maybe. He was fuming, it is what it is. Win some, you lose some,” concluded Ox.

To throw further light on the matter, Sterling confirmed his displeasure as he was present with the Liverpool star during the interview. He said that he went to bed fuming and that he was raging despite the fact that they’re friends.

I’m sure a lot of City fans share Sterling’s sentiments on the matter but as far as Liverpool are concerned, Oxlade-Chamberlain might be one of the best things to have happened to us.
