Liverpool could save millions in Naby Keita deal, thanks to Leipzig’s league position

Naby Keita

Jurgen Klopp has been doing some incredible business deals for Liverpool lately. From securing Mohamed Salah to signing Virgil Van Dijk, we have been fortunate enough to have signed such players. Our gaffer has also agreed to a deal for Naby Keita with RB Leipzig, and the player is expected

to join us this summer.

According to a report from Liverpool Echo, we could save quite a bit of money on this deal. The report claims that the final transfer fee will depend on which position Leipzig finishes at the end of the season. Currently placed 6th in the Bundesliga standings, Leipzig are 2 points behind 5th-placed Hoffenheim.

Despite being top contenders for a finish in the Champions League spots, the German outfit have endured a recent slump in form which has seen them slip down to 6th place.

Liverpool Echo has gone on to claim that we will have to pay a sum of £48million if Leipzig finish 7th or anywhere below that. As of now, Eintracht are placed 7th in the league standings but it must be noted that they are merely one point behind Leipzig.

The report has also stated that the Reds will have to pay a fee in the region of £52.75million if Leipzig qualify for the Europa League and a staggering £59million

if they can spark a late resurgence to reach the Champions League spots.

Considering the situation at hand, a Europa League finish could be on the cards but if they slip to 7th spot or anywhere below that, Liverpool could save a lot of money.
